The announcement arrived without warning late on Thursday night: a new single, a short video and a date for the full record. Within an hour the teaser had been shared thousands of times.
It is the first new material in almost three years, a gap the group has described as a long exhale after a punishing touring schedule.
What we know so far
Details are still coming in. A spokesperson confirmed the dates but declined to comment on reports of a larger world tour later in the year.
We wanted it to sound like the room we made it in, not like a studio pretending to be a room.
From our interview (fictional demo quote)
Fans who caught last summer’s shows will recognise the new song. It closed most of those sets, usually stretched to twice its recorded length.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.

I think the closing track is the best thing on the record, but fair points.
Saw them on the last tour and this was the highlight. Can’t wait for the full album.
Great write-up. The bit about the production is spot on.
